The goal of this class is to introduce students to basic money management concepts such as saving, sharing, spending, managing, earning, borrowing, and money.
From organizing finances to learning about savings, risk management, and consumer breadcrumbs, this curriculum will help students develop critical skills and knowledge in money management. Additional concepts covered include career planning, setting up SMART goals, managing financial records, creating spending and savings plans, choosing payment methods, and managing credit.
Supplies: Students will need to purchase My Financial Future youth notebook- beginner from the 4h website as well as have a Google drive account with a folder labeled Financial Literacy-MS for journal entries.
Nichole Wall has her undergraduate in Education with a minor in Spanish and her Master’s in Literacy from the State University of Oswego. She turned to becoming a financial advisor in 2017 to utilize her strengths in organization, goal setting and planning to help business owners and families. She has received numerous awards within her company as well as recently qualifying for the Million Dollar Round Table which is a global, independent association of the world’s leading life insurance and financial services professionals.
With her extensive background in financial planning, financial literacy has always been the utmost of importance to her and now has the opportunity to combine her education with her current career and offer this unique class for students.
Nichole has volunteered for various organizations and clubs through the years and was a 4h leader for two groups for several years. She lives in Sandy Creek, NY and has three children ages 10,12, and 22, and has been homeschooling her younger two for two years now.
